Easter eggs and other secrets found in the Monaco arena.

Monaco Statues

Various statues are placed around Monaco, including a bust of Polish painter Jan Matejko, and a Prince Albert I plaque. Both of these statues are accurate recreations of real-life objects present in Monaco. The fountain in Monaco is also a recreation of an actual fountain in Monaco, with the name U. Bassignani, the sculptor who made the fountain, engraved on the top.

S Lies

On June 16, 2023, during Closed Beta 2 (CB2), a message was found on Monaco by hunter TheSkyFox. It is hidden behind a destructible wall under the construction area and reads: "S Lies." It is presented in orange, pixelated text. The message is an anagram for the locations of the white rabbits in Seoul, and has as of yet unknown lore implications, appearing without context alongside "L Lies" in a MultiCo document leaked by CNS.

Monaco Graffiti

During CB2 on June 15, 2023, Easter egg hunter Serpenger spotted a graffiti-style message on Monaco that read: "SR.!" This is a reference to a meme that was created by THE FINALS Easter egg community, where the creator of TFEE Rob Runesson is affectionately known as Saint Rob, commonly abbreviated as SR.

After a screenshot of the message was posted in the official THE FINALS Discord server by Serpenger, Rob replied with "NICE.! If you find more graffiti with this style… well I guess you know who put them there.!" Hunters now knew that there would be more sprays hidden in Monaco, with messages from Rob relating to the at the time current tier of THE FINALS Easter Egg Hunt (TFEE), Tier 1E.

On June 18 2023, only three days after the first SR spray was found, hunter fishxw spotted another graffiti message behind a destructible wall near the Monaco crane: "825c". Since the style was the same as the first SR spray, the hunters knew that it must be a clue for Tier 1E.

Less than an hour later, hunter Flex4d made a connection: 825 degrees Celsius was the melting point of Aragonite, a crystallized form of calcium carbonate. This breakthrough, confirmed by Rob, was the start of a cascade of connections and revitalization of the hunt. This event eventually led to the password being solved on July 1 after a huge effort by many hunters.

Rob mentioned in his CB2 summary that only 2/5 graffiti locations were found, implying that there were 3 more to find. Later, at the end of Season 1, Rob stated "There are like 11" in conversation about Monaco's graffiti, and that more graffiti may be added with each update.

On March 4, 2024, hunter RockhoundBlack found the third graffiti message behind a billboard in the forest: "1339c". 1339 °C is the melting point of calcium carbonate.

Pergola Numbers

On June 15, hunter Joshnut found numbers engraved on a wooden structure in Monaco's park area. The numbers are "125" and "512" or "51.2." The meaning of these numbers is still unknown.

Cannons

In late Season 1, Rob revealed the existence of an Easter egg related to the cannons on Monaco, and that it would disappear after the season ended. He also confirmed that an exclusive charm could be obtained by completing it.

“ANOTHER THING... you now have 3 days until an exclusive EE will disappear from the game forever... so stop hanging in the chat and get into the game and try to find it..! (I'm getting soft...)”

Rob

He noted that is was possibly "one of the hardest" Easter eggs he'd made in his career, but that there had been clues give previously. He also promised its return in Season 3 or Season 4 if hunters didn't find it in time.

“OK... here is a promise to you... if you dont find it today... I promise you that I will reactiveate this again in S3... (Im getting soft...)”

Rob

While hunters noted some possible clues, such as Rob's use of "hard" and "soft" in messages, the Easter egg was not found, and is believed to have been removed at the end of Season 1.

On June 29, 2024, after the launch of Season 3, hunter piratelarp met Rob at TwitchCon Rotterdam. Rob reportedly confirmed the existence of an active cannon Easter egg, and that the cannons need to be fired in a specific order to activate it. Whether this is the exact same Easter egg as from Season 1 is unknown.

Three-Headed Monkeys

The three-headed monkeys (commonly abbreviated as 3HM) are small decals (similar to the white rabbits in Seoul) that are hidden around Monaco. They are a reference to the three-headed monkey from the Monkey Island video-game series. They vanish quickly after being viewed by the player, and can reappear in the same location later. If a 3HM is viewed by a player and disappears, other players who have not viewed it can still see it.

In January 2024, Rob revealed the existence of a three-headed monkey on Monaco. He eluded to it being found behind the player via a mirror or similar; a nod at Guybrush Threepwood's line "look behind you, a three-headed monkey!" from the original games. Rob offered a THE FINALS mouse pad to whoever found the 3HM first.

On March 1 at 9:57 PM (Swedish time) Rob shared that the monkey was visible on all arenas for the next 132 minutes; this ended about 2 hours later at 12:07 AM. The next day, Rob suggested that the monkey's appearances were related to the time of day, weather, and something astronomical.

“They seem to be really shy and extremely hard to spot, I don't think more than 2-3 people ever managed to spot them, and even more interesting, no one have ever managed to record or capture a single screenshot of any monkeys... but we are at lest 2 people that swear that they have seen a monkey... there seem to be some link between TOD, weather or some other astronomical link... I guess time will tell...”

Rob

On April 5, 2024, it was revealed that the three-headed monkeys were one of three in-game Easter eggs required to activate Level 3 of THE FINALS Easter Egg Hunt.

The first 3HM was discovered by hunter Sad Rock on May 30, 2024. It is located on the 'N' of a container in Pocket Park. This discovery revealed to hunters exactly how to make the three-headed monkeys appear; the conditions required being that for each player, each 3HM is only visible if:

• They are within ~10 meters of it.
• It has not been in their field of view for at least 10 seconds.

In the following hours, two more 3HMs were found. The second by hunter Ludonope, located on the electrical generator next o the Cathedral, and the third by hunter Rooftop, on the steps of a house in the Residential District.

The next day on May 31, the fourth 3HM was found by hunter Arata on the side of the underpass near the Villas. A few days later, the fifth was found hunter EE train on the main road on the East side of the Royal Plaza. It wasn't until four weeks later, on June 30, that the sixth 3HM was found by Ludonope on a trashbin next to a bench.

At this point, hunters were struggling to locate the seventh and final 3HM required to active Level 3 of TFEE. On July 19, Rob published the image "THE_FINALS_Screenshot_034_2880x1620_L3AIM" to help. The image contained a series of grid coordinates: "B2 B4 E6 F4 G7 I3 I6", the first six of which lined up with the six three-headed monkeys already discovered. By searching in the "I6" coordinate, hunter Impervious found the seventh 3HM on the wall of the shed next to the Park.

Each three-headed monkey's location corresponded to a specific letter, spelling the word "ASCONCE", which made up one part of the password required to active Level 3 of TFEE.

Golden Nama Tama

A small golden Nama Tama statue is hidden amongst the cathedral rubble on the Duck & Cover variant of Monaco. It was discovered on September 28, 2024 by hunter Ludonope using the 'LOST LEGACY' map spray released in the Season 4 Battle Pass. The map is shaped like the large inflatable duck that features in the arena variant, and depicts one of the replica The Greek Slave statues in between two mountains, looking towards a large X. On Monaco, the statue closest to the cathedral rubble, when viewed from the front, lines up with mountainous terrain in the background. This statue is looking directly at the golden Nama Tama's location, and breaking the rubble at that spot reveals it.
