The Glitch Grenade is a Light class thrown gadget that disables opponents' gadgets and deployables temporarily in an area.

Overview
Usage
The Glitch Grenade is an exclusive gadget for the Light Build. It is thrown and explodes after a short time. It then disrupts an opponent's screen and prevents them from using gadgets or specializations for a short time. Additionally, it can disable any utility that has already been placed by opponents, such as the Guardian Turret.

Uses & Interactions
The Glitch Grenade can be selected as one of three gadgets of any Light build loadout.
The Glitch Grenade is a great counter to abilities such as the Healing Beam, as it provides an opening to attack while the enemy team is unable to be healed. Other breaches of defense include the disabling of the Guardian Turret, Mines, and any Reconnaissance. It is particularly effective at immobilizing Light Builds, neutralizing their mobility specializations such as the Evasive Dash, Grappling Hook, or Cloaking Device. Additionally, the Glitch Grenade proves to be a significant asset when countering the Mesh Shield, as it can create a vulnerable moment, allowing for precise targeting and potential elimination of the shielded opponent.

However, it's important to note that the Glitch Grenade is unable to get close enough to the APS Turret to ever disable it, and so is adeptly countered. If misused, it can also affect the thrower and their teammates, putting them at as severe a disadvantage in combat.
Holding the primary trigger will prepare a high-velocity overhand throw. Holding the secondary trigger will prepare a low-velocity underhand throw. While preparing a throw, the gadget's trajectory is indicated up to the point where it bounces off a surface (or up to its mid-air detonation point). Swapping to a different item will cancel the throw. Releasing the trigger throws the gadget.

Strengths
* The Glitch Grenade is most effective when thrown into a confined space, especially if there are traps placed that can be disabled.
* The Glitch Grenade can be thrown at a Dome Shield or Mesh Shield to instantly trigger and break the shield, rather than waiting for its fuse time like it normally would.

Weaknesses
* The APS Turret counters Glitch Grenades. For example, it can be placed concealed near a doorway to prevent gadgets from being thrown through it.
** However, if the Glitch Grenade triggers just outside of the APS Turret's range, it can disable it temporarily.
* The area of effect of the Glitch Grenade is large but not extremely large, so it has the possibility of missing one or multiple traps when thrown into an area with traps. Additionally, the explosion can be blocked by surfaces.

Item mastery XP for the Glitch Grenade can be earned by glitching opponents and by disabling deployed gadgets.

Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.

The Glitch Grenade is a Light class thrown gadget that disables opponents' gadgets and deployables temporarily in an area.

The Glitch Grenade can be selected as one of three gadgets of any Light build loadout.

The Glitch Grenade can be deployed by throwing it. A few seconds after being deployed, it creates a glitch explosion that glitches nearby opponents to disable their gadgets temporarily. Additionally, deployed gadgets (such as a Guardian Turret) that are caught in the explosion are disabled for a few seconds. The user is also glitched if they are too close to the explosion.

Trigger on Time — Triggers after a fixed amount of time, regardless of whether the projectile has struck opponents or surfaces.

Trigger on Impact — Triggers on impact specifically if the grenade hits a dome or mesh shield.

Interceptible — Can be removed by the APS Turret, nullifying its effects. This causes the turret to lose some health.

Reshapeable — Can be reshaped by the Data Reshaper into a piece of decor by opponents.

Not Damaging — Hitting a contestant directly with the projectile does not deal damage.

Not Destructible — Cannot be destroyed by receiving damage such as from bullets or explosions.

Explosion

Explosive — Applies its glitch in an area of effect that can be intercepted by structures and shields.

Glitching — Glitches affected contestants, making them unable to use gadgets and obfuscating their HUD Does not interrupt processes such as stealing.

Disabling — Disables glitchable gadgets.

Not Damaging — Does not inflict damage.

Not Immobilizing — Does not stop affected contestants from moving.

No Structure Damage — Cannot be used to damage structures.

No Friendly Fire — Can glitch the user, but not their teammates.

Strengths

  • The Glitch Grenade is most effective when thrown into a confined space, especially if there are traps placed that can be disabled.
  • The Glitch Grenade can be thrown at a Dome Shield or Mesh Shield to instantly trigger and break the shield, rather than waiting for its fuse time like it normally would.

Weaknesses

  • The APS Turret counters Glitch Grenades. For example, it can be placed concealed near a doorway to prevent gadgets from being thrown through it.
    • However, if the Glitch Grenade triggers just outside of the APS Turret's range, it can disable it temporarily.
  • The area of effect of the Glitch Grenade is large but not extremely large, so it has the possibility of missing one or multiple traps when thrown into an area with traps.
