The Goo Gun is a Heavy class specialization that allows its user to freely place goo by firing blobs of goo that solidify on impact.

Basic Information and Counters
Usage
* Once the shot Goo blob touches a surface, it sticks to it, expands rapidly and solidifies.
The Goo Gun can be selected as the specialization gadget of any Heavy build loadout.
* Blobs of Goo block all projectiles and bullets, and therefore are commonly used as cover.
* Fire quickly destroys Goo, and spreads to adjacent Goo clusters. Refer to: How to Counter GooCounters
* Fire quickly destroys Goo, and spreads to adjacent Goo clusters. Goo is countered by fire and takes approximately 6 seconds to burn. Fire will spread to nearby goo even if not directly touching if within 2 meters of the flame. Refer to: How to Counter Goo
* It has a maximum mag size of 20 Goo blobs before it needs to be reloaded.
* Goo cannot be built up indefinitely, and past a certain point will break off of surfaces under it's own weight. The limit is 15 goo blobs on an attachment point before it will break at the 16th glob.
* Goo can be used in many ways for movement, such as creating platforms to scale walls or form bridges.
* When a player gets stuck by a goo ball, the goo will break automatically in 1 second.
* The goo blobs can be broken by 8 quick-melees, the same as goo from a goo barrel.
* Hardened goo from the goo gun will last 1 minute and 30 seconds on the map before decaying on its own. This is the same amount of time as goo from a goo barrel.
* Similar to reloadable primary weapons, the goo gun has no ammo cooldown, possessing unlimited reloads as fast as you can use them.
* Using the Goo Gun leaves the user unable to use a normal weapon while it is equipped.
* The goo gun has no number limit to how much goo can be placed on the map at once, only being restricted by the time before the goo decays (1m30s). Shooting 4 goo per second with a mag size of 20 and a reload speed of 2 seconds, you can easily put out many mags of goo onto the map, easily throwing out 60 or even more goo blobs/3 mags within 30 seconds (with a max of 80 blobs/4 mags within 30s using continuous fire.) This can drastically change the map in powerful ways. Fun Fact!!! You can within the decay time of 1 minute 30 seconds of continuous fire put out 12 mags before your first goo balls will begin to expire. This is 240 individual goo balls!
* It is possible to get stuck on goo without being "inside" the goo ball, meaning that it won't get destroyed automatically and the player will be stuck until the goo is manually broken. This is a glitch.

Strategy
The gadget can be held like a weapon. The trigger can be pulled to fire one goo blob that solidifies on impact with a surface or contestant. The trigger must be released before firing again. Its accuracy remains stable while moving.

* Goo can be attached to turrets, effectively disabling them. Refer to: How to Deal with Turrets
The weapon automatically reloads when its magazine is empty, or the user can do a tactical reload before this point. The user has unlimited spare ammunition.
* Update 2.10.0 changed APS turret to be destroyed after absorbing 3 projectiles. This makes the Goo Gun a hard counter to APS as you can easily shoot 3 goo blobs into the turrets radius, effectively immediately destroying it for free as opposed to pre-2.10.0 where the APS countered the Goo Gun instead.

* Similar to with turrets, shooting a goo over any mine effectively disables it, preventing it from being triggered even if stepped right on top of.
Stats
* Blobs of Goo can displace Cashout Stations upon expansion, allowing you to knock over the Cashout or move it to a more advantageous position. The goo can also displace other entities such as the Dome Shield.
Effects
* Goo can be used to create funnels for enemy movement, pushing them somewhere easier to defend from by blocking off certain entrances and leaving others open. You can put mines or turrets facing the funnel entrance, which can be extremely powerful.
The Goo Gun can be used to create blobs of goo. The goo will stick to the first surface it hits, which can be another piece of goo.
* You can very quickly block off large holes in ceilings, whole hallways and doors using goo. Single doors and vents can be block player movement using 1 goo glob if placed correctly. Keep in mind that when blocked like this, players may still be able to shoot you around the goo or throw grenades past it unless more thoroughly sealed.
* Hitting an enemy or a teammate with the goo gun will get them stuck in the goo for 1 second. This can confuse them, slow them down, cause them to waste ammo, panic or even break their teams formation. The extra time may allow you to switch to an RPG to cause lots of damage, or make a getaway to escape. It is important to note that unlike with enemies, goo will pass right through teammates. If goo is shot at a teammates feet or a nearby wall however, they can still get stuck in it.
* It is possible to block an RPG with hardened goo, potentially causing the heavy to harm themselves with their own rocket.
* By spamming goo over a large area that you think the enemy may have to cross over, you can add extra chaos to their advance leading to potential confusion and bad plays as well as slowing down their advance.
* You can quickly create player-height barricades for yourself by shooting a goo at the ground around 7 meters in front of you and placing goo off of it upwards and towards yourself. These barricades are a bit awkward but if you have no cover it is much better than nothing and is the fastest way to deploy a player-height goo-barricade.
* You can shoot blobs of goo at buttons on lifts and bridges to prevent interaction with them. Explosions however will still trigger the buttons even through the goo.
* It is easy to get either your teammates or yourself stuck in the goo, or obstruct pathways or friendly line of fire. This can lead to easy kills for the enemies, or precious wasted time. Knowing when to avoid shooting excess goo is vital to avoid these disfavorable scenarios.
* The Goo Gun is a powerful tool for objective control. Creating cover for a team can be a key element of an effective defense, and can force opponents to think on their feet. When on the offence, disabling turrets could make the difference between a team wipe and a game-winning Cashout steal.

The Goo Gun can be used to create blobs of goo. The goo will stick to the first surface it hits, which can be another piece of goo.

The goo can be damaged by opponents and teammates to destroy it. The created goo is also highly flammable. A nearby fire will quickly spread to all of the goo and destroy it after a few seconds.

If a goo piece is fired at a contestant, they will be momentarily trapped. The goo will destroy itself after trapping a contestant for a second.

Gadget

Ranged — Strikes targets by aiming and firing at them from a distance.

Stable Accuracy — Keeps a stable accuracy, even while moving and going airborne.

Full Reload — Replaces the entire magazine in one animation on reload.

No Deployment Limit — Can be deployed any number of times.

Projectile

Projectile — Gets affected by gravity and has a travel time. Once attached, the gadget is no longer a projectile.

Trigger on Impact — Can fly for any amount of time and triggers when the projectile collides with a surface or contestant, creating a Placed Goo.

Interceptible — Can be removed by the APS Turret, nullifying its effects. This causes the turret to lose some health.

Not Damaging — Hitting a contestant directly with the projectile does not deal damage.

Not Destructible — Cannot be destroyed by receiving damage such as from bullets or explosions.

Goo

Attached — Attaches to a surface upon deployment. Sticks to the surface even if it moves. Weighs down any carriable object it is attached to.

Solid — Has its own collision, meaning it blocks bullets and contestants can stand on it.

Destructible — Can be destroyed if its health is fully depleted, such as through hits from bullets or explosions. Teammates can also destroy it.

Immobilizing — Can trap contestants, making them unable to move until the goo destroys itself a moment later.

Not Reshapeable — Cannot be reshaped by the Data Reshaper.

Not Permanent — Disappears by itself after enough time has passed.

Strengths

 • The Goo Gun can block off potential all the entry points of an area, such as windows.
 • The Goo Gun can be used to briefly incapacitate players by trapping them in a blob of goo.
 • Goo placed by the Goo Gun can be used to access inaccessible areas, or open up alternative entry points.

Weaknesses

 • Fire can get rid of constructions made by the Goo Gun.

Tactics

 • The Goo Gun is an integral part of making a flying machine, by attaching a goo construction to a detached Barricade and throwing an Anti-Gravity Cube to move the Barricade up, and by extension, the goo construction that is holding the Anti-Gravity Cube and the user.
 • The Goo Gun can be used to surround an objective in a wall of goo, often called a "cocoon." Paired with an Anti-Gravity Cube, they can be attached to walls or ceilings, making them much harder to bypass.
 • The Goo Gun can quickly destroy an APS Turret by firing multiple shots near it, as each blob is intercepted and damages the turret.

Item mastery XP can be earned by firing the Goo Gun and by blocking incoming damage with its goo.

Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.
