The Glitch Trap works similarly to other mines; it can be placed anywhere and becomes armed within a few seconds. Glitch Traps have the exact same explosion radius as a [[Glitch Grenade]], and can be used to disable placed gadgets or prevent players from using their abilities. Glitch Traps will instantly detonate when they contact a [[Mesh Shield]] or [[Dome Shield]].
Glitch Traps work differently than mines. Instead of proximity detonation, enemy players will be tethered by the trap and will be unable to use [[specializations]] and [[gadgets]]. It can no longer be used to disable placed gadgets or shields.


It's ideal to place the Glitch Trap at entrances, as it can catch a contestant off-guard and cause them and their teammates to retreat until their [[specializations]] and [[gadgets]] become accessible again. Additionally, enemy gadgets that are close to an activated Glitch Trap will be disabled.
Enemy players who trigger the trap will have the glitch effect until breaking line-of-sight, leaving its 5 meter range, or destroying the trap. When destroyed, the trap does detonate or explode.
