The Glitch Trap is a gadget available to the Medium Build.

Overview

The Glitch Trap works similarly to other mines; it can be placed anywhere and becomes armed within a few seconds. When activated, any players caught will have their screen disrupted and be prevented from using specializations or gadgets. The effect requires line-of-sight between the exploded mine and the object/player being glitched.

A maximum of two mines can be planted at the same time.

Uses & Interactions

Glitch Traps have the exact same explosion radius as a Glitch Grenade, and can be used to disable placed gadgets or prevent players from using their abilities. Glitch Traps will instantly detonate when they contact a Mesh Shield or Dome Shield.

It's ideal to place the Glitch Trap at entrances, as it can catch a contestant off-guard and cause them and their teammates to retreat until their specializations and gadgets become accessible again. Additionally, enemy gadgets that are close to an activated Glitch Trap will be disabled.

Like the other mine gadgets, the Glitch Trap can be used both offensively and defensively. The main difference with the Glitch Trap is that it does not cause damage, but instead inflicts a negative effect on the target.

It is possible to disable an APS Turret with a Glitch Trap if it is placed and blown up just outside of the turret's radius (approximately 1 to 2 meters) within line-of-sight. This can be useful for CL-40 users who may especially struggle to deal with APS area denial.
