The Dagger is a melee weapon available to the Light Build.

Usage

The Dagger can be selected as the weapon of any Light build loadout.

Attacking with primary fire will quickly slash the Dagger, dealing a small amount of damage.

Clicking secondary fire will perform a stab, which will critically strike enemies that have their back turned. This critical hit deals massive damage, enough to one-shot both Light and Medium Builds.

Hitting an enemy with a secondary fire without backstabbing them will deal the same amount of damage as the primary slash, and the primary slash cannot deal bonus damage from behind.

Properties

Melee — Strikes targets close to the contestant. Can attack forever without reloading.

Single Fire — Attacks once when the trigger is used. The trigger must be released before attacking again, though the next attack can be buffered.

Alternate Attack — Has an alternate attack which can backstab opponents for massive damage.

Minor Structure Damage — Damages structures. Takes a very long time to break a concrete wall.

Strategy

Strengths

The Dagger is a unique weapon that heavily relies on the wielder to stab enemy contestants in the back to have a significant impact in the match. Wielding this weapon requires precise positioning, game sense, and careful planning to execute a clean assassination on an enemy contestant.

Weaknesses

The Dagger's prime weakness is that its damage output when not backstabbing is extremely low, making the wielder a very easy target for any enemy who has noticed their presence.

Tactics

Useful damage combinations include:

3 Primary Fire = 150 Damage (Eliminates Light)
1 Alt Fire (backstab) = 320 Damage (Eliminates Light)
1 Alt Fire (backstab) = 320 Damage (Eliminates Medium)
1 Alt Fire (backstab) → 1 Primary Fire = 370 Damage (Eliminates Heavy)
1 Alt Fire (backstab) → Quick Melee = 360 Damage (Eliminates Heavy)

Mechanics

Backstab

The Dagger's backstab is slower than the primary slash, but will deal 320 damage if it hits and opponent's back. The backstab zone of an enemy contestant is an area that spans 180 degrees, centered on their back and ending at their sides.

Item Mastery

Item mastery XP can be earned by damaging and eliminating opponents with the Dagger.

Each time a certain XP threshold is reached, the item levels up. This does not improve the item, but rewards a unique item customization.
