The Glitch Trap is a gadget available to the Medium Build.
Overview
The Glitch Trap can be placed anywhere and becomes armed within a few seconds. When activated, any players caught will have their screen disrupted and be prevented from using specializations or gadgets. The effect requires line-of-sight between the trap and the object/player being glitched.
A maximum of two traps can be planted at the same time.
Uses & Interactions
Glitch Traps work differently than mines. Instead of proximity detonation, enemy players will be tethered by the trap and will be unable to use specializations and gadgets. It can no longer be used to disable placed gadgets or shields.
Enemy players who trigger the trap will have the glitch effect until breaking line-of-sight, leaving its 5 meter range, or destroying the trap. When destroyed, the trap does detonate or explode.
It's ideal to place the Glitch Trap at entrances, as it can catch a contestant off-guard and cause them and their teammates to retreat until their specializations and gadgets become accessible again. It's also useful to place them near enemy trophies to disable defibrillators.
Like the mine gadgets, the Glitch Trap can be used both offensively and defensively. The main difference with the Glitch Trap is that it does not cause damage, but instead inflicts a negative effect on the target.

- Glitch trap is no longer a proximity detonation device
- Glitch trap now has a line-of-sight application. If an enemy player stands within range and in line-of-sight to the trap it will attach a tether to them. Tethered players have the Glitch effect applied to them, preventing them from using Specializations and Gadgets, and disrupting their HUD. Players will need to break the line of sight to the trap, destroy it, or get out of range of it, to remove the effect.
